I'd love to know too! Paige looks the same way. :( I was checking out Badger brand bug repellent (I think it's a balm?), but haven't read any reviews on it yet.
Define "safe for kids." We tried a few different things (also somewhat unsuccessfully) when our girls were really young, but I'm pretty sure by the time they were your kids' ages, we were using good ol' Deep Woods OFF. There is simply nothing like DEET to effectively keep the mosquitoes at bay!!

yup, I'm with Tammi...We went DEET all the way, even when they were really young. But then again we're not as 'natural' of a house by nature. ;)

Don't want to ruffle any feathers ladies but "deet" is poison! And in my books, that's not a good thing!
